The sites that we recommend to visit are:

Elephant Activities & Kuang Si Waterfall

THIS PROGRAM IS FOR OUR IN-HOUSE GUESTS ONLY.

After your breakfast, at 8.30 AM, your driver will meet you at the lobby reception of the hotel, then you will have a drive for 50 minutes to Kuang Si Elephant Retreat.

You will enjoy an Elephant experience at there, You will be welcomed by Mr Tha Tho, an elephant local expert who passion the elephants. With him, you will have the opportunity to learn about Lao elephants. You will then feed the elephants and be closer to them. Afterwards, you will have a ride on the elephant for one hour and the more adventurous you can bathe the elephant in the river.

Then you proceed the excursion by minivan to Kwangsi Waterfall. On the way, you may visit the Luang Prabang Butterfly Park at 300 meters before arriving to the Kwangsi Waterfall if you desire. You will pay on your own the entrance fee there.

Upon arrival at Kwangsi Waterfall, enjoy the famous waterfall of Luang Prabang. You pay on your own the entrance fee. You may swin there. Return to the Hotel at anytime that you request before 5.00PM

Kayaking on Nam Ou River

Kayaking to Pak Ou Caves (One day)

This program is for our in-house guests only.

At 8.30AM, your guide and your driver will meet at the lobby reception of your hotel and will drive you to Ban Khone Kham a Lao Theung or Khmu village, one of the main ethnic group, normally living on the slopes of mountains in Laos.

There we will get into your kayak and begin the journey down the Nam Ou River. While we paddle downstream, we will pass many different minority villages. We'll see beautiful landscapes and many farms of different kinds along the river.
Whenever you are hungry, you can stop for a picnic lunch. Anytime you would like to stretch your legs or rest your arms, you can pull over for a break or a little land exploration. We will spend four hours on the water before arriving Pak Ou Caves. You will visit the caves and then get across the Mekong River on your kayak. We will put your kayaks in the truck and we drive you to the hotel.

Boat rental to visit Pak Ou Caves by yourself

Boat rental to visit Pak Ou Caves (maximum 6 persons)

This program is for our in-house guests only.

At 8.30 Am, we will transfer you on touk touk to the pier. There, you will get on our small Nam Ou slow boat without guide and head for 2 hours upstream on the Mekong to the Pak Ou Caves. All along the water's edge, you will see the way of life of people leaving on river banks: gardens with a variety of vegetables, people fishing and you will see many types of boats running on the Mekong River.

On the way to the caves, you will visit some villages as Ban Xang Khong, a weaving village, where you can experience the entire process from silk worm to finished product and you will also see how saa paper is made in Ban Xieng Lek, next door to Ban Xang Khong Village.

Further up the river, the boat will stop in Ban Xang Hai, a rice whiskey village. Here, you will see the process of making the famous Lao Lao rice whiskey, and you can even sample the product if you're feeling adventurous.

Then you will continue on to the main attraction, the famous Holy Pak Ou Caves of Luang Prabang. You will pay there the entrance fee for 20.000 Kip per peson (about 2.50 USD).There are two caves there: the lower cave called Tham Ting and the upper cave called Tham Poum, where you will see thousands and thousands of Buddha Images in different sizes and styles which have been put there over several years. When local peoples wishes became true they would offer Buddha Images of their day of birth to the Caves or put them there for special events such as Lao New Year. The upper-cave, Tham Pum, is dark, so a torch(flashlight) is a necessity. These can be rented at the front of the cave.

You will cross the Mekong to visit Pak Ou Village where you may have lunch on your own at local restaurant.

Afterwards we proceed to the boat to Ban Khok Village where access is only by boat. In this charming village you will see how people pass a relaxed life, along with the two primary school classes, temple and cave that people believe where “Naga” (mythical serpent) was to protect the village. You will see a hole with a ventilation which local people believe is the path way for “Naga” to get to the Nam Ou River.

After all the visits, you will return by boat to Luang Prabang. It will take about one hour for the trip back to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival at the pier, disembark from the boat. The end of service.

Treasure Hotel Laos is a small charming hotel with friendly staff, located in Luang Prabang City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, declared in December 1995. It is in a peaceful area and within a 10 minutes walking distance to the center of town. The hotel was originally built in 2005 by the owner Mr. Sisombat Douangvilaykeo, known as the Villa Treasure and then renovated in 2012 to become Treasure Hotel Laos.

The new property features 49 well designed rooms all with private bathroom, hot and cold shower, air conditioning, in-room safety box, cable TV, minibar and free Wi-fi.

We provide 21 Standard Rooms and 28 Deluxe Rooms.
